Questionnaire Analysis
I recently created a questionnaire about the college magazine. With the questionnaire I discovered that only 5% of people actually read the college magazine, also I found out that the majority of people asked didn’t even know there was a college magazine. This shows that a better marketing approach would be needed so that the magazine reached its target audience. In relation to the pricing of the magazine 75% of the people asked said that they would not pay anything for the college magazine and the other 25% said the maximum amount they would pay was 50p. When asked what people would like included in the magazine a large majority said that they would like to know about upcoming events, other people said that they wanted competitions used in the magazine and a small majority said they would like shout-outs and bulletins featured in the magazine. The least popular articles or features to be used in the magazine were the history of the college and how to manage the college workload, this shows that these would need to be dropped and replaced with something that interested the target audience more.
When asked how the college magazine could be improved a large proportion of the people asked said that more colour and pictures should be used to help improve the look of the magazine. Others also said that better publicity would help it to reach its target audience. In terms of how often people would buy the magazine 30% said that they would buy the magazine weekly, 50% said they would buy it monthly, 20% said they would buy it termly and 0% said they would buy it yearly. Overall most people would buy it monthly so the college magazine would need to be released at a certain point in the month to be able to reach its target audience. Lastly people were asked what they would like to hear about in parts of the magazine most people said that they wanted to hear about upcoming gigs, reviews of gigs, upcoming films to be released at the cinema, Facebook news, job opportunities, and fashion tips/advice and also they said they would like an Agony Aunt to be featured.
