Kerrang feature article analysis
This feature article in Kerrang magazine is of the band My Chemical Romance. From looking at this feature article we can see that the editor of the magazine may have chosen to dress the lead singer in certain colours so as to help him stand out more from the colours of the text and the background. The colours used all contrast against one another to help the text and the lead singer stand out, showing that both of these items are of importance to the reader, the main colour that catches the eye of the reader is the red which is shown immediately on the hair of the lead singer and also in the top left hand corner with big bold red text, this text also has a light blue border around it which contrasts against the black background it is situated on. In relation to this we can see that there is a consistent red and blue theme that is present in this feature article, for example the lead singers hair is red and is t-shirt is a mixture of blue red and white, also his jacket is a dark blue colour which almost blends him into the background slightly, more of the red and blue theme can be seen in the top left hand corner and the bottom right hand corner with text and symbols carrying on with this theme. In relation to what the text is saying the reader would instantly go to the top left hand corner, mainly because of the colours used and what the text says, this is because the text is startling for the reader as it implies that the band almost split up. The smaller text is arranged in columns so that it is streamlined and easier for the reader to follow the text rather than having the text spread across the page, the text is split in the middle of the page however, because of the lead singer being in the centre of the page, this also creates a sense of importance around this image.
